A Real Eastern Shore Wedding

Natalie and Tobias

{ May 30, 2009 }

An Eastern Shore Wedding After growing up on the Eastern Shore, Natalie knew there was no other place so perfect to get married. Not only is it her childhood home, it's an absolutely gorgeous setting - especially for an outdoor wedding in the spring. It was also an easy drive from the Washington metro area, where most of Tobias's family and the couple's friends reside.

Easton was the perfect destination for Natalie and Tobias's guests to get away for the weekend while sharing in their special day. Many of guests commented on how much they enjoyed the historic downtown Easton area, which could be easily explored from the Tidewater Inn. The rehearsal dinner was held at Mason's Restaurant. Mason's location - only two blocks from the Tidewater Inn - made it the perfect choice. The menu was Italian-themed, and included a delicious assortment of hors d'oeuvres followed by a buffet including lasagna, chicken piccata, and fish. Italian beers and wines flowed freely, as well.

An Eastern Shore Wedding On the day before their wedding, Tobias and Natalie chartered a private skipjack ride on the HM Krentz to spend time with their wedding party while treating them to an authentic and memorable experience unique to the Eastern Shore. For their wedding day location, The Talbot Country Club provided a beautiful and private setting. In addition to full-service food and beverage service, the Talbot Country Club also had the resources available to take care of many other details - such as linens and chairs for the ceremony - which made planning that much easier.

The weather on the wedding day was perfect, making the setting on the Bayside even more picturesque.

Natalie's wedding dress was an ivory silk gown by Nicole Miller. Tobias rented Calvin Klein tuxedos from Men's Wearhouse and purchased black skinny ties from Urban Outfitters for a vintage chic look. The bridesmaid's dresses were from J. Crew.

An Eastern Shore Wedding Swan Cove provided the prettiest of flowers. The bride's bouquet included light pink and white peonies, hydrangeas, and garden roses. The bridesmaids's bouquets were made of brighter pink peonies along with lighter hydrangeas and garden roses. All of the guys wore boutonnieres made of stephanotis. The table flowers were also an assortment of peonies, hydrangeas, and garden roses in shades of light pink, bright pink, and white. The room was decorated with a floral centerpiece on each table along with small votive candles. The bridemaid's bouquets doubled as the flower arrangements for the head table!

The invitations were custom designed by Tag & Co.. The fortune teller place cards were made by an artist from Etsy (and included a variety of trivia questions about the couple), and the delicious cake was made by Candy Backus. Favors were salt-water taffy candies purchased locally from Dolle's of Rehoboth Beach, presented in pastel boxes with the bride's and groom's names printed on cute little stickers.

For Natalie and Toby, memories of their Eastern Shore wedding will always be about family and friends, the lovely scenery, and all of the thoughtful touches and details sprinkled throughout the ceremony and reception. Memories of their special day are captured forever in the beautiful photos shot by Melissa Grimes-Guy.
